One of 156 special order 1969 Plymouth Barracudas needs a new home.

Obviously, the ‘Cuda is the first thing people think of when discussing the 1969 Plymouth Barracuda. This was the year Plymouth introduced an all-new legend based on the Formula S. Other engine options were available for the ‘Cuda, but the top model—the 440 Super Commanda V8—was the one that grabbed all the attention.

Even now, the Plymouth Barracuda remains a powerful presence. With the release of each subsequent model year, Plymouth improved the engine lineup, contributing to the continued popularity of the 1967 refresh.

In the 1967 Plymouth Barracuda, the 383 horsepower was first 280, then it increased to 300, and finally to 330 in 1969.

These photos show a Barracuda that is unlike any other.

There’s a lot of power hidden under the hood of this car, and the owner claims it’s extremely unusual, as only 156 were built. If you’re interested in the car, make sure you ask a lot of questions and find out more about what makes the car unusual, as I was unable to find any numbers to back up this claim.

According to eBay seller Sassonorus, the 366 engine, which has a Mopar cam, a Holley carb, and a Weiand manifold, was installed in the car when its father was a racer in the 1970s and 1980s. We don’t have any additional information about what goes on under the hood, so call a trusted mechanic to check out the engine and find out more for yourself.

According to the photos, the car has always belonged to only one family and doesn’t need a thing. The owner claims the front seats need to be reupholstered, but other than that, this is a great automobile that only needs minor repairs. Aside from the gearbox gasket, which is to be installed by the prospective owner, the car is in perfect mechanical condition.

In addition, the automobile is full of memories as the seller provided photos of it at the racetrack. “We spent many weekends camping in the pit area,” he said.

This Barracuda is having trouble convincing internet users that it’s worthwhile to bring it home despite its racing heritage. Last week, the car was listed online, but it only received one bid. That’s all it needed in any case, as the owner listed the vehicle on eBay without placing a reserve, so it’s ready to go to the new owner as soon as it gets a bid.

With only two days left in the auction, it will be interesting to see if and how the digital war intensifies given the $20K bid. In the meantime, you’ll have to get to Edwards, California to see this Barracuda in person and make sure everything is working properly. In its current state it appears to be ready to hit the road, so given its design you won’t need a trailer to tow it home.
