2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring for $80,000 less than MSRP

In the current car landscape, trying to sell a used Lucid Air is like helping Team USA win the Copa America. Chaotic and challenging. In fact, as the owner of a Lucid Air, I’d bet the United States has a better chance of taking home a major international soccer trophy than I have of selling your car for a fair price.

Used Lucid Air EV prices are dropping faster than the domestic market was in 2008. It’s enough to make a person wonder if owning an EV is really legit. Since EVs require significantly less maintenance than cars with internal combustion engines, this would have been one of the primary selling factors before.

Things ended up a little differently, however, and in a way that makes sense given how aggressive EV manufacturers have been lately. After all, these cars are still in their infancy, so growing pains are to be expected. This technology is far from ideal, and most people will still opt for a car with an internal combustion engine (ICE) until researchers figure out how to make smaller, lighter batteries that offer double or triple the range of today’s average.

Anyway, if you need a reminder of the current situation for those trying to sell used EVs, especially premium models, we have another Lucid Air for you. This time, the car we’re checking out is a 5,000-kilometer-driven 2022 Grand Touring Standard. The item was originally priced at $140,500, and recently, the most anyone was willing to pay for it was $61,111. That’s less than half its MSRP.

Infinite Black Metallic exterior, soft-close doors with retractable illuminated handles, adaptive LED headlights, heated and folding mirrors, a set of 21″ Aero Blade wheels with 265/35 Pirelli P Zero tires, adaptive suspension, a four-zone automatic climate control system, heated rear seats, power-operated rear sunshade, heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a 21-speaker Surreal Sound audio system are just some of the features that set this vehicle apart from others.

When it comes to performance, it can produce 819 horsepower and 885 lb-ft of torque thanks to its dual motor arrangement. With everything working simultaneously on all four wheels, you can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 kph) in less than 3.0 seconds. With those 21″ wheels, you should get a range of about 469 miles, But I wouldn’t put any money on it.
